Protecting Species and HabitatsThe Foundation for Australia’s Most Endangered Species is a national conservation funder and a company limited by guarantee with a focused mandate: to invest in initiatives that deliver measurable ecological outcomes.Established in 1993 from the early vision of conservation pioneer Dr John Wamsley, FAME was founded on the belief that decisive, science-based intervention could alter the trajectory of species decline in Australia. Over three decades, that founding conviction has evolved into a carefully governed national foundation with a strong reputation for stewardship and delivery.FAME partners with government agencies, research institutions, scientists and land managers across Australia to support species recovery and habitat restoration. Our funding has contributed to the recovery and stabilisation of more than 30 species at risk, while strengthening the ecosystems on which many others depend.Each investment is supported by scientific review, Board oversight and ongoing accountability to ensure conservation action translates into tangible biodiversity outcomes.FAME is building a national community committed to practical, science-based conservation and responsible stewardship of every dollar entrusted to it.
